Stuck in a Perfume Rut

Some time ago, I realized what a brand name junkie/sellout I am when it comes to perfume. It’s sad, really. If you take a look at my current collection, you’ll find something creepily similar with each one. Just try to put your finger on it… haha.

Something blonde and umm… hoochie perhaps? Well, I guess I’ll cut Gwen some slack on the hoochie part… she’s cool, and I actually favor L.A.M.B. over the others. But Britney and Paris? When did I subconsciously decide I wanted to smell like an attention-craving panty-ditcher? I’m thinking it’s time for a change.

So, what is everyone wearing now? What are your favorite scents? I am in desperate need of something new. My trusty fall back is Victoria’s Secret Vanilla Lace (mmm, smells like cookies), but perfume-wise, I could use some help. :)

  1. Okay you know my signature scent that you claim makes me smell like me. That is Falling in Love by Philosophy. But as my larger bottle has been all used up, I decided to break out some of my others to use up and declutter. Now using Coconut Lime Verbena from Bath and Body Works (purchase impulsively after smelling someone’s gift at the Foundation I think).

    HAHAHA!! Love itttt.

Chris recently offered to buy me the LaVanila’s Coconut Vanilla perfume. So I’ve been wearing that the past few weeks and it is sooooo yummy. I usually don’t care for anything floral, I’d rather smell like a cookie ;)

  3. I love the picture of Britney Spears.

It’s like if you look close enough, you can almost see her slowly going insane.

  4. Haha I have to agree with you on the perfume thing. I have Paris and TWO Britney’s. I do love Fantasy though. Although lately I wear a lot of the perfume Steph got me before the wedding, Lacoste Inspiration. Its amazing. Anything of Victoria’s Secret never fails either.

  6. Thanks for the sweet comment on my blog. I needed some encouragement! Your blog is darling- it reminds me of emilystyle.blogspot.com (a daily read of mine) with your cute outfit suggestions. I’ll be checking back for sure. {I’m in a perfume rut too- Jadore (Christian Dior)…time to try something new for summer!}

  7. oh man! you sound like my roommate haha. she is such a huge britney fan despite the whole mentally insane thing.

i know it’s pricey, but i love marc jacobs — literally all his scents are beautiful. and the price is worth it.

  8. Currently I am in love with Coach perfume (hubby got it for me) but my trusty fall backs are Victoria’s Secret Angel and VerySexy. I don’t know, I usually prefer the spray mists though, nothing too heavy.

  9. Ha! I actually love the way Brit’s fantasy smell, though I don’t own it. I actually very rarely wear perfume (gives me headaches). If anything, I wear Victoria’s Secret “Very Sexy” if I feel like strutting around like a supermodel or Sud Pacifique’s “Vanilla Coco” if I feel like pretending I’m loungin on a beach. I also remember loving some scent from Escada (I think it’s called “Paradise” or something like that), but again…don’t own it. I dig the more vanilla/musk-y/food smelling-ish scents over the floral deal.

Oh wait…my most favorite scent comes from a parfumeur I bought in Paris…they’re called Fragonard. You should def check them out…

  10. Right now I am wearing either Victoria Secret’s Pink or Estee Lauder Pleasures (Delight, I believe). I could easily own 5 other kinds of perfume however– there are so many delicious scents out there!
you will have to let us know what you end up choosing! :)

  11. I have never smelled those 3 scents but I am intrigued by your post to go out and test them.

I actually use anything by Marc Jacobs. His new one, Daisy, is FAB!

  12. Hey, I don’t actually have too much to add to this- but I posted a similar post about week ago, asking people what their “scent” was. I’m in dire need of a new flavor! I got tons of suggestions and still, am not sure where to turn.

Good luck finding the perfect one!

  13. Thank you so much for the comment!

My boyfriend got me Ralph from Ralph Lauren. My problem is 15 minutes after I put it on I don’t feel like I’m wearing anything, and everyone else has said they can’t tell. However, I’m afraid of completely dousing myself in it and not realizing it.

  14. i love anything by victoria secret. i always keep the pure seduction body mist in my gym bag and keep a bottle of supermodel in my purse, because, well, by spraying ‘supermodel’ on me, i instantly feel like one.
my perfume over the years has been haute couture by givenchy, and the other day at a drug store i found this ‘fizzy’ by ‘allysa ashley’. i now smell like all things sugary and sweet, for a 6th of the price of givenchy.

  15. Covet by SJP is the most amazing smelling perfume and she’s only slightly blonde ;) My boyfriend got this for me for Christmas 2 years ago and I have yet to be sick of it. Between this and Pink by Victoria’s Secret (I’ve repurchased this scent about 3 times I use the bottle until the last drop – this is the ONLY perfume I’ve ever done that with). They are my two favorites.

I also love – and this is cheesy Crush by Curve – it’s a very soft powder like smell. I love using it in the Fall.

I switch up my scents each season. Covet is something I only wear at night though – it’s a bit too strong for day time. Same for Very Sexy by Victoria’s Secret – but Pink rocks anytime day or night!

I like Brit’s perfumes but can’t bring myself to buy them – I’d never live it down the boyf would tease me for life ;)
