Quick Update

I have been a terrible blogger this past week!  You probably all think I had the baby or something, but nooooooo… I’m not that lucky.  Just wanted to get you all in the loop as to what’s been going on and what little progress has been made.

Last Wednesday was my last day of work, which has been one half COMPLETELY AWESOME and one half absolutely maddening.  There are only so many times you can dust the living room and fold & refold onesies without going nuts in the process.  It’s a constant struggle not to just sit and think about when this baby is coming when you don’t have office work to distract you, but then again — I’m staying up late and sleeping in every day.  That kind of makes up for it. :)

Oh yeah, and not having to wear makeup is highly underrated.  I never realized how much I really dreaded going through that whole process of foundation, blend, concealer, blend, powder, blend, blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara until I didn’t do it on Thursday morning… and now I’m sort of hooked.  Does that mean I’m officially a mom now?  I swear I’ll make the effort again one day…

Okay, this morning was my weekly appointment, and after 2 weeks of walkingwalkingwalking, I was hoping that some sort of progress has been made by my rather stubborn lady parts.  It turns out that I’m dilated to about a 2 and am 70% effaced, which is pretty good, considering how UNdilated and UNeffaced I was last time.

My nurse/midwife (still not sure what to call her) also took the liberty of stripping the membranes (yum.), which is supposed to help along the labor process.  I can say that after she did that and I walked around the mall for a few hours today, my contractions are definitely noticeable and getting sort of uncomfortable and crampy.  YAY!  I’m trying not to get too excited, but hey… my due date is on Thursday and this could very well be the real thing.  I could be holding my little turkey on Thanksgiving, so… AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!  I’m a little excited about it.

That’s all for now, my lovely bloggy friends.  I’ll be sure to keep the updates coming as things move along.  I’m also planning on passing my Twitter duties on over to Justin while I’m in the hospital, so you’ll all be right there, practically listening to me scream in agony.  Good times.  I know you’re excited.

  1. YEAH!!! I hear stripping the membranes is really good for speeding up the baby process. My sister had it done and she went into labor the SAME DAY… just about 5 hours later. So I’ll be keeping my fingers cross and considering getting your twitter updates straight to my phone! :-)

  2. I hope you have the little baybeeeee soon :)
I cannot wait to see pictures! (post one more belly shot!)
    hehe

    Wasn’t Twilight amazing?
I took Thomas (who hasn’t read the books) and said it was definitely one of the best movies he has ever seen!

  3. Is it crazy that I’m thinking of getting a twitter account JUST so I can follow your labor?? Because seriously, I think I might feel a little left out of the process, otherwise… :)

I’m praying it’s the real thing for you! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE SO EXCITED!!!!!
My doctor stripped my membranes with Annabelle on a Thursday afternoon, and she was born Friday morning… soooo, there’s another success story for you! You just never know!
Either way, you are constantly in my thoughts these days, friend!

P.S. I LOOOVE the days I don’t have to wear makeup, even though I look like crud :)

  4. I have no membrane stripping stories…but I can’t wait to see your little darling!!! I’m w/ Talia, maybe I need a Twitter account too…hmmmmm!!

  5. I’m with Susan.. no stories here, though I can imagine just how fun that must have been.

But seriously, Oh my god, how are you not freaking out?? (and any of your suggestions that oh yeah nine months is forever, just get pregnant and you’ll have plenty of time to get ready for a baby… I BELIEVE NONE OF IT! Because this has been the fastest nine months ever! You are going to be a mom in a matter of days.. or hours… crazy! Can we go back to when you sent me that email with the picture of your with the positive pregnancy test? yes? Was that really nine months ago? I remember it like it was yesterday. The squealing.. The “Are you serious?!”.. The phone losing service and me FREAKING OUT. Yeah that was nine months ago. CRAZY!)

  6. OH MY GOSH Morgan!!!!! Yeah, I was def one of those people wondering if little Maddie was already here! And I’ve been checking back to your blog all the time to see if there’s a new post declaring the BIG NEWS! (Just in case google reader was delayed. ha). And I just told Johnny — Morgan could be having her baby RIGHT NOW! I’m sooooo excited for you! YAYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Eeeek! I can’t wait!

  7. Sooo excited for you. I had NOTHING during those last weeks and had to be induced at 41 weeks. :) Enjoy your time off and get plenty of relaxation.

  8. I loved the movie. And I love Rosalie’s shoes in the kicthen scene. The movie was really good.

The baby will come when she’s ready. :)

  9. Oh yeah, sorry to comment twice. But the potrayal of high school was dead on. And it made me think that I would not like to continually repeat high school forever. That would make me want to be mortal.

  10. I hope you know we’re all dying over here.

There’s nothing on your Twitter account either.

I had a friend who was supposed to turn over Twittering duties to her partner and all we got was water broke and then the next day that the baby was here….

  11. So, your probably in labor right now or something, but I just came across your blog today, and I’m IN LOVE. I basically read back until the beginning it (I know, I’m really cool and have a life) but your life is so awesome, and I loved reading about it. I can’t wait to continue reading about your life once you have the baby! Hooray! <3
