The First Pedicure
23rd
2010
A while back, my mom had the brilliant idea of painting Maddie’s toenails.
I was like, “Mom. Listen to yourself. Maddie’s insane. She’ll never sit still and will probably kick the crap out of your face in the process.”
“But her little fat toes would be so cute with some polish on them!”
“Mom. Not a good idea.”
So she didn’t do it…
Until today.
I just received this in a text message, with a caption that read “hahahahahaha!”…

Apparently this was her second attempt at painting Maddie’s toes this morning. The first time didn’t work out so well, as predicted, with red nail polish ending up all over my parents’ new bedspread. So Mom put Maddie in a high chair and distracted her with food and Yo Gabba Gabba. Those are the magic words for this child, I’m telling you.

I just can’t stop laughing.

Alicia does Bella's toes and I don't know how she gets her to sit still, but Bella loves showing you her painted nails. Maddie's nails are really cute. Funny it is your mom that did it because it never would have occured to me to do Bella's and I thought Alicia was a bit crazy to do it.

I mentioned to my husband that I was going to paint my daughter’s little toenails and he flipped. So I won’t. :P Yet.

My BFF was watching my daughter a couple of weekends ago and asked if she could paint her toenails (via text message) and I said if she was up for the challenge to go ahead and do it. Zoey – my daughter – is 8mths old and has better looking toes than I do! :)

OH MY GOODNESS.. LOVE x5000!!!!
and you can ask Caitlyn.. the other night I was pouting because I have no one’s nails in my home that I can paint other than my own. I need a daughter.. otherwise Maisie should probably run and hide.

Ahhh! This is so cute! I tried putting Olivia, my fur baby, in a hair chair with the Dog Whisperer on to try this on her toes…but she wouldn’t have it. :(

Your mom sounds like my sister! My oldest would always come home with some polish on her toes as a baby. Nowadays, both my girls beg her to do it

omg! i just did scarlett’s first pedi last night, too!
although seeing maddie’s pedi, I wish i opted for a red.. i just did pale pink, which is too pale.
i just did it while she slept. in a darkened room (which is why i couldn’t tell the pink matched her rosie toesies!!)
on April 24th, 2010 at 11:16 pm
Ha! Adorable. I’d probably do that if I had a daughter. Or I would at least try.
on April 26th, 2010 at 9:22 am
Look at those little toes! Too cute!!
on April 26th, 2010 at 12:51 pm
absolutely adorable!

Her feet are adorable. My 3 year-old just loves pedicures. She barely breathes while I do it because she is so afraid she’ll smudge the polish.
