Maddie Jo – 18 Months

Well, my little chunky, blonde, nugget of a daughter is already a year and a half.  I am so ridiculously cliche right now, but seriously… I look at her and wonder where the time went. She’s so big!

(I’ll be crying myself to sleep tonight on my huge pillow.)

That sweet, cheesy grin greets me every morning when I get her out of bed, every afternoon when I pick her up from “school” and every evening before she falls asleep. She’s a truly happy, silly little ball of energy and such a joy to us.

And she’s talking up a storm, let me tell you. Maddie says hi! to everything that breathes, please and thank you when it’s appropriate, and just learned about BOO-BEEEES! which has proven to create quite the awkward moment for Mama. That’s a story for another day, but trust that I’ll tell you about it.

Also, we’re just about ready to start potty training, to which I beg my sweet Lord, SAVE ME.

  1. thank you for the baby fever morgan.

she’s precious. i feel like it was just yesterday you were writing about being pregnant and now she’s 18 months and so stinkin adorable it’s a sin. :)

  2. Oh yes, I vividly recall the boo-beeeeeee story. Too good, too good.

PS? That child of yours is way too cute for words. I’d like to squeeze her, please and thank you.

  3. That is one cute little girl! My little guy is 21 months and is talking up a storm (never mind that it sounds like he’s talking chinese, half of what he says is totally unrecognizable!) Good luck with the potty training, looks like you’re starting early. Girls do everything so quickly…apparently boys are delayed. (But then so are most men so I suppose it never changes does it?)

  4. Your daughter is beautiful! And you’ve given me baby fever for the day. I’m sure Mike will thank you for that! LOL And btw, your gorgeous :)

  5. I love her little hair bow!! And yeah, I’m with Rachel…I can’t figure out who she looks more like!

And BTW your hair looks super duper cute in that pic…did you cut it? Weren’t you talking about doing something different with it a while back??

  6. Awww, she’s so adorable. Has it really been a year and a half? I remember when you were only pregnant and awaiting your baby. Well, I’ve been your reader for a long time!

    :)

  7. I love this picture of the two of you so much! Such beautiful ladies! That cougar bate husband of yours (that was one of my favorite post to date) is a lucky man !

  8. What a little sweetheart. I love it when you blog about the funny “Maddie stories’! Poopies and boobies!

  9. she’s getting so big!! can’t wait to hear how potty training goes… I always assume Louie will be in charge of that since we have boys but I’m pretty sure that’s now how it’s going to go. what the heck do I know about guy stuff anyhow? I guess they do start out sitting…

ack, not looking forward to that. i grew up hanging out with boys and their little brothers. I remember vividly one little brother peeing ON his older brother while we played with Legos.

    good times.

  10. She’s so cute. I can’t believe our girls are getting so big. Bean is just about potty trained at home. It was a long process. She’s no where near ready out and about though. I am thankful for no carpet in our new place. It’s made things so much easier to deal with.

  11. she’s adorableness personified. What a silly little girl, too! I always love her toothy little grins. Too cute for words.

Also, 18months?? what in the world?? why do kids grow so fast??

oh, potty training. I only have one thing to say: I will pray for you. :)

  12. okay i have to make sure, did you just quote the dad from “so i married an axe murderer”… i hope so. because my son’s head is like an orange on a toothpick…

    your little girl is adorable.

& with the potty training thing, you CAN DO IT! ;D i know… i did!

  13. This so strange! I just stumbled upon your blog and ironically enough my husband’s name is Justin, and we have a daughter named “Madi” also. Another coincidence, my daughter is 19 months and she too, just discovered her boobies! Lol! Too funny. I can’t wait to read your post about that experience. I had no idea what to say to my Madi!
