Diapers and nursing and hormones, oh my!

That’s pretty much been my life the past few days, aiii! I’ve been stealing a few minutes here and there to read all your comments and I just have to say how much I appreciate all the sweetness. You guys are awesome. Once I’m able to get more than an hour of sleep at a time, I’ll be back here more often. I’m a total zombie right now, no joke. I nodded off about 3 times while writing this paragraph.

We’re having a pretty interesting time adjusting to a life with two kids, but so far this experience has been a lot less stressful than last time. And wow, Maddie is surprising us all! She’s constantly asking, “is baby okay?” and giving him the most gentle kisses and pats on the cheek. She’s loving it.

Okay, here are a few pictures! Talk to you all soon.

You know how happy I must be if I'm posting a photo showcasing my 50 chins.

  1. Congratulations again on such a handsome baby boy! Adjusting from 1 to 2 kids wasn't as difficult as I thought it was going to be either. The hardest thing, I think, has been having to carry so much! Usually I'm carrying the diaper bag packed for 2 kids (although my 3 year old doesn't need much anymore since she's potty trained), a baby who likes to lean as far over as he can to see if Mommy can catch him while carrying 6 bags of groceries, holding my daughter's hand, and carrying any toys she insisted on taking with her and then decided they were too heavy for her to carry.

  5. I am going to nibble on those little fingers. Those soft, teeny tiny fingers.

    and his ears.

    and toes.

Really I don’t know if you could ever trust me alone with him because I just might eat him up.

I love that you’re shocked Maddie is being sweet. I have a feeling you had the same fear that I did, that instead of Sweet Big Sister there’d be Punt The Baby When Mom’s Not Looking… ;p

  11. so happy for you! two precious little ones to care for…such an adjustment! two rocked my world! it’s ok if you feel overwhelmed. everybody needs a ton of grace, especially when no sleep is involved. try to get some rest, ok? don’t try to do it all. that is my 2 cents.
