So, I can’t decide whether I approve of the teal polish trend that’s omg sooooo in right now or not. I think it’s one of those things where one random person decided to wear it, it was photographed, Lauren Conrad felt the need to join in, then everyone was all nuts about it (remember the purple last year?).
As reluctant as I am to buy into every new (and sometimes silly) trend, I did pick up a bottle today to try out. It will only go on my toes, since, you know… teal fingernails on the receptionist doesn’t exactly scream “professional”.
Well, what do you know?! LC has blue toes.
The Glamourai (anyone know her real name?) prances around in cute/terrifying shoes and blue toes.
Maybe it was just Suri who started it all. Who knows.
What do you think about it? Weird? Cute? Eh?
who says teal fingernails doesn’t scream professional on a receptionist? i mean, seriously… we had one at my [real] job that had a tree painted on both of her thumbs… and a bird on her pinky.
howevs, i’m with you. teal toes it is…. but not before a pedi [which i am in great need of].
I bought the TiFfany blue nail polish back in February I’m in love with it. I can’t believe it got so popular! You have to admit though its a lot friendlier than black!
I think it’s cute on the toes. I have to say though, the only time I’ve worn blue on my toes was years ago. My hubby was away at basic training for the Air Force when the ultrasound was scheduled to find out the sex of our oldest. I was in FL and he was in TX, so I told him via one of our few phonecalls that I would paint my toenails pink for a girl or blue for a boy when I came to his graduation (which was only a couple of days later). So we found out that our first was a boy and I had baby blue toenails. (Of course I matched my outfits around it too ;) ).
I know that it wasn’t teal, so I guess that story didn’t make much sense, lol. But if I could pull it off, I’d probably try it once.
Depends. I wouldn’t wear it. But I would have about 10 years ago.
OMG, this is Such a flashback for me. I used to have a Huge fetish for painting my finger and toenails in funky colors and decorating them with glitter and sequins and tiny stones and painted decorations such… I probably had over 200 different colors of polish and Ooodles of decors *LOL* This was ummm…. about 8-10 yrs ago? I hadn’t thought of it, but I actually packed it all up and put it away in a closet, probably still there *LOL*
As for wearing colors… why not? Just on nicely manicured nails, not on stubbies, Nothing looks good on stubbies :-(

I totally would have done it when I was in junior high when I redid my nail polish every night to match my outfit for the next day. Now, not so much.
um….if it’s your thing..go for it..lol!
I love colors, so I wear teal on my fingers and toes…though not usually at the same time :) One color I have and love is called Denim and it’s from Rimmel…I don’t even know if they make it anymore, but it looks AMAZING.
Toes: Definitely! Fingernails: only if they are cut short. Then maybe. But I love teal toenails!
that’s the nail color i have been sporting! lovessss it!
check out my blog for a diy necklace harness!

I don’t mind the teal, in fact I recently bought a bright blue color :) What i don’t get, is the yellow nail polish. I think it’s totally fug unless you’re like, dark (I swear that wasn’t racist).
It works but only if you have a great tan, I’m (lets put this nicely) “pale and interesting” and I did metallic teal the other day and took it straight off as; I. looked. like. I. had. frostbite. Yet my mediterranean work colleague had it on her toes and it looked GORGEOUS.
@Crystal: Trees and birds? YIKES.
@Jen: That totally makes sense… and has to be one of the cutest ideas ever! I’ll have to remember that for baby #2. :)
@Lisa: It’s so funny you used to do that, because my best friends and I would get all crazy with our nail colors in Jr. High too. Mostly because we could only wear uniforms and had to bring in color somehow! But we repainted them every night to match our ribbon colors we wore in our hair. We were cool.
I like it! And I definitely think some tan feet could pull it off!
I LOVE it! My daughter has the OPI by Sephora color “Skinny Jeans” and we both love it! It’s so fun and cute! :) Have yet to try it on my fingers though…still undecided on that one!
Personally…maybe just on my toes….not the fingernails. But I do really like the color.
ehhh, not sure what i think about that. white is really in here and i am loving it, especially when i have a good tan. :)
yuck.
I’ve never seen this before (hi, I live in a cave) but I like it. Definitely on toes, not so much on my fingernails, though.
Where did my comment go…? Off into limbo I guess :-(
And it was so whitty, quite unlike me *LOL*

denise: I don’t know why your comments keep going to my spam folder! What the?! I did find it and approve it though, and I can’t stop laughing at “stubbies”. You are my hero for that! lollll
Did you know that teal is the awareness color for ovarian cancer? Did you know that September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness month?
As an ovarian cancer survivor, I no longer wear anything but teal on my toes. When people ask or remark on it, I tell them about ovarian cancer.
Check it out at http://www.TealToes.org
Diamond Cosmetics has even created a Teal just for the cause! (www.diamondcosmetics.com)
I approve for the toes…NOT so much for the fingers…it looks sorta like death! haha ;)
I used to wear royal blue toenail polish for YEARS….kinda ridic
